The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 came into effect on the 1st January 2005 and Fife Safety Camera Partnership, in line with other public authorities in Scotland, complies with this legislation.

The Act states that the public is entitled to access information held by a public authority, subject to certain exemptions covering protection of personal data, crime prevention and detection, commercial confidentiality and national security with total responsibility for the correct and proper provision of such information falling to the authority concerned.

Note:  Requests for the identification of camera equipment relative to specific offences will only be considered from individuals who have correctly identified themselves as the driver at the material time of that alleged offence under 172 of the Road traffic Act 1998 through a completed and signed Notice of Intended Prosecution.

 

** All speed measuring devices used by Fife Safety Camera Partnership are Home Office type approved.
